Over the past 30 years Actorshop has been using acting, drama, comedy and theatre to change people’s lives. During our journey we’ve had the privilege of working with so many inspiring people who challenged us to broaden our thoughts and approaches to the way we work. Their inspiration has helped us evolve into who we are today.
From our humble beginnings of working with schools around London, we have grown to become a global organisation working with businesses and educational institutions in many countries. We’ve expanded our work into film and television with the birth of Actorshop Productions and are proud to say we have won BAFTA’s in the process. Our newest branch, The Actorshop Agency, is about opening new doors for collaboration in the creative arts industry while managing and nurturing diverse acting talent and making their dreams a reality.
One evening after the delivery of an Actorshop programme, the team was discussing the intangible and immeasurable contribution actors bring into the work place with our training. During the conversation one of the actors said it would make a great blog entry, and the rest, as they say, is history.
It’s with that we are pleased to launch The Actorshop Blog. Our aim is to bring you insight into the fields we work in on a daily basis, from people we have the pleasure of working with that challenge us and ultimately change us. We want the pieces to be as diverse as we are and hopefully make you ponder, laugh, and give you glimpse into the state of things as we see it.
We look forward to the Actorshop Blog being a space for conversation from all those that visit. So please leave comments and thoughts below.
Here’s to 30 more years of acting being a vehicle for change, growth and most importantly, fun.
